Jake Allyn is an American actor, writer, and director known for telling grounded, character driven stories rooted in faith, identity, and moral responsibility. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Jake comes from a filmmaking family and co-owns Margate House Films alongside his brother Conor Allyn and father Rob Allyn.
A former standout varsity football player at Cornell University, Jake played four years as a wide receiver and tight end before multiple injuries led him to explore acting. After graduating, he briefly worked in film production overseas before moving to Hollywood, where he began building a career across television and film.
Jake gained widespread recognition for his role as BoJohn Folsom on the BET series The Quad and has since appeared in Amazon Prime’s The Baxters, S.W.A.T., and NCIS: Hawaiʻi. In film, he co-wrote and starred in No Man’s Land and made his feature directorial debut with Ride, a modern rodeo drama that reflects his deep connection to Texas, cowboy culture, and morally complex storytelling.
He is currently working on an upcoming documentary project that examines the story of a law enforcement officer confronting the limits of the justice system in the face of his daughter’s addiction. The film explores addiction, accountability, and the emotional cost carried by those tasked with enforcing the law, and is told through Jake’s perspective as a filmmaker rather than an advocate. A release date for the documentary has not yet been announced.
Across his work, Jake is drawn to stories that wrestle honestly with broken systems, redemption, and the quiet strength found in faith, creating space for conversations that linger long after the credits roll.
