Jake Allyn is an actor, writer, and director whose work centers on character-driven storytelling, moral complexity, and questions of faith, identity, and responsibility.
He gained widespread recognition for his breakout role as BoJohn Folsom on BET’s The Quad, and currently stars as Ryan Taylor on Amazon Prime Video’s The Baxters. His film work includes co-writing and starring in No Man’s Land, a contemporary Western exploring life along the U.S.–Mexico border.
In 2024, Jake made his feature directorial debut with Ride, which he also wrote and starred in—a film rooted in modern cowboy culture and the cost of holding onto tradition in a changing world.
Jake is currently developing and directing Clean Hands, an unreleased documentary film inspired by a true story. Told through his lens as a filmmaker, the project follows a veteran police officer whose lifelong belief in the justice system is challenged when it fails to save his daughter from addiction. The film explores the limits of enforcement, the realities of addiction, and the possibility of redemption, compassion, and purpose in the face of devastating loss.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Jake comes from a filmmaking family and co-owns Margate House Films with his brother and father. A former Cornell University football player, he brings a grounded, disciplined perspective to his work—telling stories that wrestle honestly with hard truths while holding space for hope.

Brooke’s House is a community-based, nonprofit sober living home for adult women in the early stages of substance abuse recovery, founded in loving memory of Brooke Simmers. Built from a promise her father, Kevin Simmers, made to her before her death in 2015, Brooke’s House was created to offer what so many recovery facilities lack: a safe, stable, dignified, and home-like environment rooted in compassion and hope.
Located outside the bustle of downtown Hagerstown, Maryland, the home provides a tranquil setting paired with state-of-the-art recovery resources designed to help residents move from dependence to independence. Made possible through overwhelming community support, donated land, and volunteer leadership, Brooke’s House stands as more than a building—it is the fulfillment of a promise and a living legacy dedicated to helping women reclaim their lives and pursue a drug-free, productive future.
